‘From Aspiration to Accomplishment: My Professional Evolution’

PG Department of Botany at KAHM Unity Women's College, Manjeri, organized its sixth Alumni Lecture ‘From Aspiration to Accomplishment: My Professional Evolution’ on 31st January 2025, featuring Risla Kalathingal, an alumna of the 2016-2019 B.Sc. Botany batch. The session commenced with a welcome address by Deepa P., who introduced the resource person. After completing Bachelor's Degree, Risla pursued M.Sc. in Environmental Science at Pondicherry University, where she conducted her project on ‘Signatures of oil pollution in the sedentary biota along the coastline of Chennai, Tamil Nadu’ at the National Center for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM) under the guidance of Dr. Abhilash K.R. She later worked at SAGE Sustainability, Bangalore, and currently serves as an ESG Associate at Hubbell Incorporated, Kochi. During the lecture, she shared her experiences at KAHM Unity Women’s College, her transition into Post Graduate studies, research internships and insights into professional journeys. The talk inspired students by showcasing opportunities in Environmental Science and Sustainability. The event coordinated by Deepa P., Assistant Professor (Adhoc), and Rahila K., a Sixth-Semester B.Sc. Botany student. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Rahila K.
