Gardening for Good: Cultivating a Greener Future

On 21st December 2024, PG Department of Botany hosted the Fifth Session of its Alumni Lecture Series, titled ‘Gardening for Good: Cultivating a Greener Future’. The session featured Ms. Shaharban C., an accomplished alumna of the 2021-2024 B.Sc. Botany batch who is currently pursuing her M.Sc. in Applied Plant Science at Calicut University Campus. As a passionate farmer and budding entrepreneur, Shaharban has successfully integrated the Botany knowledge into her lifestyle, cultivating a wide range of economic crops at home and raising pets with scientific precision. During the talk, she shared her personal journey and experiences, focusing on sustainable farming techniques and innovative agricultural practices. The inspiring session offered students practical insights into farming and entrepreneurship, encouraging them to pursue similar endeavours in their academic and personal lives.
