Workshop on Terrarium Making and Bottle Gardening

  • 07 Nov / 2024

*Workshop on Terrarium Making and Bottle Gardening*

As part of the Botany Department Association’s initiatives, a hands-on workshop on terrarium making and bottle gardening was organized to equip students with practical skills in sustainable gardening and creative plant arrangements for small spaces on 7th November 2024.
The session was led by Dr. Faseela P., and Nazmin Banu, Assistant Professors, Department of Botany, who guided participants through the process of creating both terrariums and bottle gardens.
Key topics included plant selection, layering techniques, soil and moisture management, and design aesthetics. Students actively participated, working in groups to create their own terrariums in glass containers using plants, mosses, pebbles, and decorative items for visual appeal. They also explored bottle gardening by creating hanging arrangements in repurposed bottles, using suitable plants for compact, indoor-friendly setups. The workshop was well-received, providing students with insights into plant care, artistic arrangement, and the ecological value of small-scale gardening. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Asna Jahan K., the Association Secretary, Department of Botany.
