Successfully Defended Ph.D. Viva

Ms. Nushiba Naser P.T., Assistant Professor (Adhoc), PG Department of Botany successfully defended her Ph.D. viva voce on 14th February 2025. The research, titled “Holistic Approach on Bioactivities, Phytochemicals, Nanoparticle Biosynthesis, and Endophyte Isolation from Two Ficus Species,” was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Prof. (Dr.) John E. Thoppil, Department of Botany, University of Calicut. It explored the bioactive potential, phytochemical composition and green synthesis of nanoparticles using two Ficus species. Additionally, the study focused on the isolation and characterization of endophytes, contributing significantly to the field of plant-based bioactive research and nanotechnology.
The viva voce session involved an in-depth discussion on the findings, methodologies and implications of the work. The examination panel, comprising distinguished experts in the field, commended her for the extensive research and scientific rigor demonstrated in the thesis. The work has added valuable insights to botanical research and holds promising applications in pharmacology and sustainable biotechnology.
