WILD WITHIN: A WORKSHOP ON HUMANS AND NATURE 

NSS Units 008 and 171 of KAHM Unity Women's College (Autonomous), Manjeri, in collaboration with Bhoomithrasena Club and NERF Malappuram, organized "Wild Within: A Workshop on Humans and Nature" on 10 September 2026 at Aryabhatta Hall. The workshop aimed to promote environmental awareness and foster a deeper connection with nature among students.

The programme began with an official session. The welcome speech was delivered by Jalva Nishani, NSS Secretary. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Faseela, NSS Programme Officer. The workshop was formally inaugurated by Mr. Rajesh Chemmalassery, wildlife photographer. Following the inauguration, Mr. Mohammed Shibili and Mr. Sagu Rafeek addressed the gathering and shared their thoughts on nature, wildlife conservation, and the significance of the workshop. The official session concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Nihala, NSS Secretary.

The first session was handled by Mr. Rajesh Chemmalassery, teacher and wildlife photographer, who shared his journey into wildlife photography and presented several remarkable photographs along with the stories and experiences behind them. Mr. Sagu Rafeek also attended the programme and interacted with the participants.

The second session began at 1:00 PM and was led by Mr. Mohammed Shibili, wildlife photographer and camp coordinator. He introduced students to different species of birds through photographs and explained their characteristics, habitats, and significance in the ecosystem.

Following the sessions, students were divided into groups and participated in a campus biodiversity exploration activity. They observed butterflies and birds, collected leaves, photographed natural elements, and created artistic displays using leaves. Each group presented its observations and findings before the programme concluded with a group photograph.

The workshop provided valuable insights into wildlife conservation, biodiversity, and the importance of preserving nature.
