AIDS AWARENESS STREET PLAY
NSS Units 008 & 171 of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri affiliated with Calicut University organized an AIDS awareness street play titled “Onnayi Poojyathilekk”. The event was conducted under the leadership of the State AIDS Control Society and the State Health Department, in collaboration with Manjeri Medical College.
The event was led by *Loveena Bennet*, Junior Public Health Nurse at Manjeri Medical College and Mr. Bishwajith C.V, Junior Health Inspector at Manjeri Medical College.
The street play aimed to raise awareness about the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS, emphasizing the importance of early diagnosis and combating the stigma associated with the disease. The play was performed by Pornami Theatres, a renowned theatre group from Balussery, Kozhikode.
The program was graced by the presence of our college principal, Dr. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, who delivered a motivating speech encouraging students to take active roles in health awareness campaigns.
The event attracted a large audience, including students, staff, and local community members. It effectively conveyed critical health awareness messages, encouraging everyone to join the fight against HIV/AIDS and break the silence surrounding it.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by NSS secretary Ms. Hana Fathima, acknowledging the collaboration of all the organizations involved and the efforts of the NSS team.
