NSS Observes International Day Against Drug Abuse

The National Service Scheme (NSS) units of Manjeri K.A.H.M Unity Women’s College successfully organized a program to raise awareness about drug addiction in observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse, held annually on June 26th.

Inaugural Ceremony

The event commenced with an inaugural address by Dr. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal of the College. He emphasized the significance of International Drug Abuse Day and highlighted the institution’s unwavering commitment to combating drug abuse in the community. Fathima Hana, NSS volunteer Secretary, warmly welcomed all attendees to the program.

Educational Session

NSS Program Officer Dr. Jasna V.C, addressed the student body, delivering an informative session on current drug abuse trends, their devastating impact on individuals and society, and effective preventive measures. This session aimed to educate and empower attendees to make informed choices and promote a drug-free lifestyle.

Engaging Performances

NSS volunteers presented a captivating skit that portrayed real-life scenarios related to drug abuse. The skit focused on the consequences of addiction and the importance of seeking help through prevention and rehabilitation programs. Following the impactful skit, a high-energy flash mob performance engaged and energized the audience, creatively reinforcing the program’s message.

Oath-Taking Ceremony

A solemn Anti-Drug Pledge ceremony was held during the program. Attendees came together and took a pledge to abstain from drugs and actively spread awareness about the dangers of substance abuse in their communities.
