YOGA DAY

The NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, under 9 (K) Girls Battalion NCC, Kozhikode, celebrated International Yoga Day on Friday, June 21st, from 8:15 am to 9:30 am in the College CH Auditorium. The session was instructed and demonstrated by the Associate NCC Officer, Lt. Loosiya KP. This year marks the 10th International Day of Yoga with the theme ‘Yoga for Self and Society’. This theme emphasises the dual benefits of yoga practice: enhancing personal well-being and improving society at large. It recognizes that inner serenity and self-care are the cornerstones of a happy and healthy existence.

It integrates the body, mind, spirit, and soul, offering a holistic approach to health and well-being that brings peace to our hectic lives. During the session, Lt. Loosiya KP demonstrated and explained the benefits of different asanas such as Pranayama, Kapalabhati, Tadasana, Trikonasana, Vriksasana, Vakrasana, Bhujangasana, Chakrasana, Halasana, Savasana, Suryanamaskar etc. The session emphasized the significance of finding balance in our fast-paced, modern lives and promoted physical, mental, and spiritual harmony, as well as mindfulness, stress reduction, and overall health and vitality. The cadets actively participated in the session. Thirty-five cadets participated in the session. Lt. Loosiya KP and CPL Sreelaya NC (4th Sem BA English) were the faculty and student coordinators of the programme, respectively.
