College Union Inauguration

A pragmatic approach to life amidst multifaceted perspectives can bring in massive changes in society, opines Mr. C. P. Saidalavi, renowned journalist and Writer.

Journalist and writer, Mr. C. P. Saidalavi spoke about how an academically oriented personal identity cultivation can translate to the society to provide a better tomorrow during the College Union Inaugural function at K.A. H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri.

The College Union and Fine Arts inauguration was held at the College Auditorium on 8th December, 2023. He also added that academic days can be a decisive phase to gather more knowledge and the true shades of empowerment happens when rights are legitimately claimed and universally accepted. The Fine Arts was Inaugurated by Ms. C. H. Mariyath (motivational speaker, writer and employee at Calicut university). She expressed the importance of determination in life and urged the students to inculcate the values of compassion and respect – the foundation of humanity. Her inspiring talk was followed by the unveiling of the fine arts logo – ‘Takara’, designed by the Final year student – Savitri. Dr. Shahina Mol A.K, (English Department Head and IQAC coordinator) was honoured and acknowledged for her solid presence and participation in the International Conference at University of Manchester, United Kingdom.

The welcome address was delivered by Mr. Siddhique P. , Assistant Professor in English and Fine Arts Secretary. Ms. Aslaha Konoth, Chairperson, gave the Presidential address. Principal, Prof (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur administered the oath to the elected Union members and the leaders took charge of their official duties under the aegis of ‘Meridia’ Students’ Union. This was followed by the keynote address by Adv. U. A. Latheef, Honourable M.L.A. of Manjeri constituency. Manager of the college, Jb. O. Abdul Ali , Dr. Shahina Mol A.K. (English Department Head and IQAC Coordinator), Mr. Rahib B. (Staff Secretary), Mr. Adam Thaneri (NTS Representative) and Mr. V. M. Mustafa (P.T.A. Vice President) spoke on the occasion. Ms. Fathima Thasni K., General Secretary delivered the vote of thanks. The official event was followed by a special musical performance by Mr. Ismail Paattoholic.
