Bakrid Fest 2024

The Meridia Students Union of K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College successfully conducted the Bakrid Fest 2024, a cultural extravaganza that showcased the diverse talents of our students. The event commenced at 1:30 p.m. in the C.H. Auditorium, with an atmosphere of excitement and cultural fervor. The festival was graced by the presence of Ms. Fathima Shiril, the College Union Vice Chairman, who presided over the event. The inauguration was marked by the enlightening words of Prof. Dr. Mohammad Basheer Ummathur, the college’s principal. In his inaugural address, Dr. Ummathur emphasized the integral role of cultural festivals in the academic curriculum, highlighting their contribution to fostering social cohesion, leadership qualities, and team spirit within the student community.

Dr. Hikmathulla delivered an inspiring Bakrid message, resonating with the themes of unity compassion and sacrifice. Ms. Fathima Thasni extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting a cordial tone for the event. The felicitation addresses by Dr. A.K. Shahina Mol, the I.Q.A.C. coordinator, and Dr. Ani Nainan added to the richness of the proceedings.

A vote of gratitude was eloquently proposed by Ms. Fidha (UUC), acknowledging the efforts of all those who contributed to the success of the Bakrid Fest.

The post-inaugural session was a vibrant display of cultural programs, including traditional Mappila Pattu, the rhythmic Oppana, various dance performances, and a competitive Mehndi contest. The students’ enthusiasm and talent were evident in each performance, making the fest a memorable experience for all.

The Bakrid Fest 2024 not only provided a platform for students to express their artistic abilities but also reinforced the cultural values and communal harmony that our institution stands for. It was a day that celebrated the spirit of togetherness and the joy of cultural expression.
