Sukrtham Project – Vayojana Sangamam: A Tribute to Our Elders

As part of its ongoing mission to instill empathy, respect, and social responsibility among students, the Value Education Club of K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized Vayojana Sangamam under the Sukrtham Project on the fifth day of the 7-day NSS residential camp. This heartwarming session, held at 12:00 PM, welcomed elderly members from the 46th ward of Manjeri Municipality and the 5th ward of Pookkottoor Panchayath, offering them an opportunity to reconnect, share, and celebrate their lives with the younger generation.
The session began with a warm welcome by NSS Secretary, Ms. Fathima Rasha, who expressed deep gratitude and respect for the elderly attendees. The event was designed to provide a space of joy, interaction, and appreciation, reinforcing the importance of valuing the wisdom and experiences of our senior citizens.
To uplift their spirits, student volunteers sang melodious songs, filling the gathering with warmth and nostalgia. A special interactive segment allowed the elderly to share their favorite songs and recount treasured childhood memories, creating a bridge between generations through storytelling and music.
The dedication and enthusiasm of the volunteers were evident in the smiles and heartfelt responses of the elderly guests, making the session a truly meaningful experience for all. The event concluded with expressions of gratitude from NSS Secretaries, Ms. Hana Fathima, Ms. Sadhiya Sherin, and Ms. Fathima Hashim, who acknowledged the importance of such gatherings in fostering compassion and human values.
Vayojana Sangamam, conducted under the Value Education Club, successfully reinforced the significance of respect, gratitude, and social inclusion, leaving participants with a deep sense of fulfillment and warmth.
