The Film Club at K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, was inaugurated by Dr. Viju V.V., Former Journalist and Former Researcher at IIT Madras on February 14, 2025. The inaugural talk which was in collaboration with the P.G. & Research Department of English was on “Feeling Film : Film Studies for Passionate Viewers”. The inaugural session was presided over by the Principal of the College, Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur. Dr. Shahina Mol A. K., Head and Iqac coordinator, Department of English addressed the audience. Manager, Engnr. O. Abdul Ali too addressed the gathering. The inaugural session by Dr. Viju V.V. focussed on the theme of “Remembrance” in movies and how we connect this emotional response to our quotidian life. He  also added how Wordsworth’s “emotions recollected in tranquility” parallels with Wendy Cope’s ideology. The need to feel film and the mechanisms through which the feelings from cinema arose were discussed. The Welcome note was given by Ms. Muhsina C. K. of sixth Sem English and Ms. Fidha C. H from fourth semester (Computer Science) delivered the vote of thanks. The programme was coordinated by the film club Co-ordinators Dr. Krishna Sunder A., Ms. Sangeeta K. and student coordinator Ms. Muhsina C.K.
