2023-24 FILM CLUB INAUGURATION - The Film Club at K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, was inaugurated by Mr. Harinarayanan S., Assistant Professor, Department of English, N.S.S. College, Ottapalam on October 6, 2022. The inaugural talk which was in collaboration with the P.G. Department of English was on “New Generation Malayalam Cinema and its Various Manifestations”. The inaugural session was presided over by the Principal of the College, Dr. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur. Dr. Shahina Mol A.K.(Head of the Department of English), Dr. Krishna Sunder A.(Film Club Co-ordinator) and Ms. Hidha K. of Fifth Sem English spoke during the session. The inaugural session focussed on the deconstruction strategies used in New Generation Malayalam Films thereby revamping the hitherto notions on power, stardom and gender. The Welcome note was given by Ms. Aswathi of Fifth Sem History and Ms. Nayana Suresh (Joint coordinator, Film Club) delivered the vote of thanks.
