Seedling Cultivation

The Agri-Horticultural Club, in collaboration with the Department of Botany, conducted an agricultural activity focusing on harvesting seedlings at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, on 02/12/2024. Under the guidance of Dr. Usman Sir, Head of the Botany Department, and with the coordination of Club Convenor Ms. Shifa M, students actively participated in practical horticultural practices. The objectives of this event were to provide hands-on experience in horticulture, educate students on sustainable agriculture, and encourage active participation in farming activities. The event featured activities such as harvesting healthy seedlings from nursery beds, demonstrations on proper seedling handling and transplantation, and discussions on soil preparation and nutrient management. Dr. Usman Sir shared valuable insights into plant growth stages and eco-friendly farming techniques, emphasizing the importance of organic farming and biodiversity conservation. The session concluded with an interactive discussion on sustainable agricultural practices, enhancing students' practical knowledge and awareness of environmental conservation. The initiative successfully strengthened the collaboration between the Botany Department and the Agri-Horticultural Club, cultivating enthusiasm among students for future agricultural projects. The event was a significant step towards promoting sustainable farming and practical learning experiences within the college community.
