On November 21, 2023, under the supervision of Ms. Shifa and Ms. Nahla, the Agri-Horticulture Club of Unity Women's College organized a productive farming activity at the college's polyhouse. Seedlings were carefully sourced from Daliya Nursery and Garden, Anakkayam, ensuring quality for optimal growth. With meticulous preparation and cultivation techniques, including soil management and irrigation systems, club members planted a variety of vegetables such as tomato, capsicum, okra, and cowpea. Throughout the process, attention was paid to maintenance, including pest control and nutrition management, to support healthy growth. This hands-on experience not only resulted in a bountiful harvest of fresh, organic vegetables but also provided valuable learning opportunities about sustainable agricultural practices and environmental stewardship. The initiative reflects the college's commitment to practical learning experiences and fostering a culture of environmental awareness among its student community.

Outcome:

The collaborative efforts of the Agri-Horticulture Club resulted in a successful vegetable farming activity at Unity Women's College Polyhouse. The cultivation process not only yielded a bountiful harvest of fresh, organic vegetables but also fostered a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and environmental stewardship among the participating members.

This initiative aligns with the college's commitment to promoting practical learning experiences and fostering a culture of environmental awareness and sustainability among its students.
