An awareness session on HPV vaccination was organized by the KSWDC Women Cell, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, in collaboration with KSWDC and the 181 Women Helpline. The programme was conducted on 17 March 2026 from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm at the college campus, with nursing students from Medical College, Manjeri serving as the resource persons. Around 100 students from various disciplines of the college attended the session and were sensitized about Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection, its link with cervical cancer, and the benefits and safety of HPV vaccination. The resource team explained eligibility, recommended age, dosage schedule, and cleared common myths and fears related to the vaccine, thereby motivating students to consider timely vaccination. The programme was coordinated by Suhada KM (Women Cell Coordinator) and MP Nashwa (2nd Sem B.Sc. FCS, Student Coordinator). Feedback from participants indicated that the session improved their awareness and helped them understand the importance of HPV immunization as a preventive health measure for young women.
