World Environment Day Celebration – “Eco Charm: A Women’s Touch to Nature”

In observance of World Environment Day 2025, the Women Cell of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, in collaboration with the Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation (KSWDC), organized an inspiring and environmentally focused campus event titled “Eco Charm: A Women’s Touch to Nature.” The event took place on the 5th of June, 2025, at 10:30 AM within the college campus.
The programme was designed to emphasize the nurturing role of women in environmental protection and to encourage eco-friendly initiatives among students. The title “Eco Charm” reflected the central theme of combining environmental concern with the gentle and powerful influence of women, underlining their capacity to lead sustainable and green transformations in society.
The event began with a ceremonial sapling planting session, symbolizing growth, care, and the deep-rooted connection between humanity and nature. Participants, including teachers and students, came together to engage in this simple yet significant act, reinforcing their collective responsibility towards the planet.
The programme was coordinated by Ms. Suhada KM, Teacher Coordinator of the Women Cell, with the enthusiastic support of Fidhaha, a B.Sc. Chemistry student who served as the Student Coordinator. Their leadership and dedication ensured the smooth conduct of the event and active participation from students and faculty members alike.
Through this event, the Women Cell successfully created awareness about environmental issues and promoted the importance of individual and community efforts in preserving natural resources. The celebration served not only as an act of environmental responsibility but also as a celebration of women’s leadership in sustainable development.
