The 'Sakshathkaram' workshop was a transformative event designed to empower women by equipping them with essential skills and knowledge to foster entrepreneurship. Organized by the KSWDC Women Cell and Women Skill Park in collaboration with IDA-WDC Eranad Branch, the workshop aimed to inspire women to achieve financial independence and personal growth. Held on 7th March 2025, the event attracted a diverse group of participants eager to learn and explore new opportunities.
Dr. Salva Arshad, an expert in textiles and entrepreneurship, conducted an engaging and informative session. Her presentation covered the following key areas. Dr. Arshad provided a detailed overview of various fabrics, their properties, and their applications in different industries. She explained how understanding materials can help women create quality products and make informed decisions in business. The session included practical demonstrations on fabric selection, basic stitching techniques, and design principles. Participants were encouraged to practice these skills during hands-on activities, which helped build their confidence and creativity. Dr. Arshad shared inspiring stories of successful women entrepreneurs in the textile and fashion industries. She discussed the steps to start a business, including market research, sourcing materials, branding, and accessing financial resources. Her insights motivated participants to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career path. The workshop included group activities and discussions, allowing participants to share ideas and collaborate. These interactions fostered a sense of community and encouraged women to support one another in their entrepreneurial journeys.
