‘SHAKTHI SHIELD – Self-Defence Training for Women’

The Women Cell of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, in association with the Kerala State Women’s Development Corporation (KSWDC), successfully organized "SHAKTHI SHIELD", a self-defense training program for women, on February 20, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Open Divi Divi Corner. The training was led by Ms. Amrutha Anoop, 1st Dan Black Belt and Team Coach of Champions Martial Arts Academy, along with Mr. Anoopmon CK, Founder of Champions Martial Arts Academy, 4th Dan Black Belt, and Malappuram District Team Coach (2024–2025). The event commenced with a welcome address by Suhada KM, Women Cell Coordinator, who emphasized the importance of self-defense training in today’s world. She highlighted the initiative’s relevance in fostering confidence, awareness, and preparedness among young women. Dr. Faseela P and Ashitha PA, executive members of the Women Cell, delivered the felicitation addresses, appreciating the Women Cell’s efforts in organizing such a meaningful and empowering event. They stressed the need for continuous self-defense training programs to equip students with skills that ensure their safety and independence. A total of 21 students actively participated in the session, where they were trained in basic self-defense techniques, awareness strategies, and situational responses to enhance their personal safety and confidence. The resource persons provided hands-on demonstrations and emphasized the importance of quick reflexes, mental preparedness, and physical agility in handling real-life threats. The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Reema Nazar, the Programme Student Coordinator, who expressed gratitude to the resource persons, faculty members, and participants for making the event a success.  The event was well-received by the participants, who found the session empowering and highly beneficial. The Women Cell expressed gratitude to the resource persons and the college administration for their support in successfully conducting this program.
