Two sessions on Financial Literacy were conducted on 7th January 2025 by Mr. Anto Jose, Trainer, National Stock Exchange (NSE) under women cell of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri. The program, undertaken by NSE in collaboration with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), aimed to educate students about investment opportunities and financial planning. The event commenced with a warm welcome note by Ms. Reema Nazar, the program coordinator, who set the tone for the sessions.
Session Details:
•    Undergraduate Session: 10:40 AM to 11:40 AM
•    Postgraduate Session: 2:40 PM to 3:40 PM
Key Highlights:
1.    Investment Opportunities:
Mr. Anto Jose provided an overview of various investment options, including the stock market, sovereign gold bonds, fixed deposits, and mutual funds.
2.    Investment vs Savings:
The importance of investment as a means to grow wealth, compared to savings, was discussed.
3.    Futuristic Investment Planning:
The session emphasized the need for long-term financial planning and introduced participants to basic strategies for future investments.
Both sessions witnessed active participation, with a minimum of 45 participants in each. The program provided students with valuable insights into managing their finances effectively and understanding the significance of early investment.
