Cup of Life: Awareness Talk on Menstrual Hygiene and Cups
On October 30, 2024, the KSWDC Women Cell at KAHM Unity Women's College, Manjeri, in collaboration with the Women Dental Council, IDA Eranad Branch, organized an awareness program titled "Cup of Life: Awareness Talk on Menstrual Hygiene and Cups" in honour of International Girl Child Day. The event took place from 2:40 to 3:40 pm and aimed to educate young women on the importance of menstrual health and the benefits of menstrual cups.
The program commenced with a warm welcome from Mrs. Suhada KM, the Women Cell Coordinator, followed by an inaugural address by the College Principal, who emphasized the significance of health awareness among young women. The main session was led by Dr. Amina Naushad, an Obstetrician, Gynaecologist, and Laparoscopic Surgeon from KIMS Alshifa Super specialty Hospital. Dr. Amina provided an insightful talk on menstrual hygiene, covering both practical information and health benefits associated with the use of menstrual cups.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dilna, Student Coordinator, and Dr. Salva, WDC Representative. This impactful session was well-received, contributing to a broader understanding of menstrual hygiene among the students
