The Anti-Narcotic Cell of KAHM Unity Women’s College (Autonomous), Manjeri, organized a campus-wide speech competition to raise awareness about substance abuse and its emerging challenges on 11th September 2026 at 2.00 pm and the venue was Aryabhata Hall. The program was coordinated by faculty members Dr. Deepa K. and Dr. Jasna V. C. (Assistant Professors, Department of Chemistry), alongside student coordinator Fathima Zamla (3rd Semester FYUGP Chemistry). Students from various academic departments participated enthusiastically, addressing the theme "World Drug Problem: Persisting Issues, New Challenges, New Responses." Competitors highlighted the physical, psychological, and social impacts of addiction while emphasizing the vital role of youth in driving prevention and awareness. Designed to promote a drug-free campus and select top speakers for the upcoming district-level competition, the event concluded successfully as an impactful platform for student leadership and advocacy. Adhila Sherin K. (1st Semester M.A. English) secured the first prize, while Nihala K. M. (3rd Semester B.Sc. Chemistry) and Jalva Nishani C. P. (3rd Semester B.A. History) bagged the second and third prizes, respectively.
