Report: Anti-Narcotic Awareness Programme: An Anti-Drug Awareness Class was organized for the first-year students of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, on 30 July 2026 at 11.00 a.m. in the college auditorium by the Anti-Narcotic Cell, NSS Units 171 & 008 and the Red Ribbon Club. The programme aimed to create awareness about the harmful effects of drug abuse and encourage students to lead healthy, responsible and drug-free lives. The programme began with a welcome address by Dr. Haris U, NSS Programme Officer. The resource person, R. P. Suresh Babu, Assistant Excise Inspector, Excise Range Office, Manjeri, delivered an informative session on the physical, psychological, social and legal consequences of drug abuse. He explained different narcotic substances, the dangers of addiction and the legal actions against drug-related offences. A highlight of the session was the speaker’s sharing of real-life experiences from his service in the Excise Department, which helped students understand the serious impact of substance abuse on individuals and families. The interactive session also gave students an opportunity to clarify their doubts regarding drug abuse and related laws. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Faseela P, NSS Programme Officer. NSS Volunteers and Red Ribbon Club members efficiently coordinated the programme and ensured its smooth conduct. The programme was highly informative and reinforced the college’s commitment to promoting a healthy, safe and drug-free campus.
