Hands-on training workshop on Microbiology techniques
‘Ambrosia’ Research Club, Department of Botany conducted four-day hands-on training workshop on Microbiology techniques in collaboration with Geno Bio Research Centre, Kottakkal. The program aimed to provide participants with practical insights into key aspects of microbiology. 30 students from 1st semester MSc students were actively participated the program. Mr. Mohammed Musthafa E.P., Supervising Guide, Geno Bio Research Centre and Dr. Faseela P., Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany shared theoretical as well as practical insights and guided participants in microbiology techniques. Workshop covered the fundamental concepts of microbiology and emphasized precise preparation of microbiological media with a focus on sterile techniques. Hands-on sessions allowed participants to practice cultivating and handling microorganisms. All the participants also explored the isolation of bioactive compounds from selected plant extracts and engaged in evaluating the antimicrobial activity of selected plant extracts towards the selected microorganisms.
