Book Talk on “Ente Munpe Vannilla” by Kailash Satyarthi, led by Mrs. M.K. Vineetha

A book talk on “Ente Munpe Vannilla” by Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi took place on 15th September 2025 at the Human Library. The event was organized by the Shihab Thangal Library, Readers’ Forum, and Library Literary Club. Mrs. M.K. Vineetha, Assistant Professor, Department of English, led the session with a deeply emotional and thought-provoking presentation. The book highlights the harsh realities faced by vulnerable children, especially those who experience exploitation and child labour. It draws from Kailash Satyarthi’s lifelong activism to end child labour and emphasizes the importance of education, children's rights, and social justice.
Fathima Munjiya, Secretary of the Library Literary Club, opened the event with a welcome speech. After a lively interactive session, Reema Mariyam, General Secretary of the Readers’ Forum, wrapped up the talk with a vote of thanks. Reema also shared her personal experiences with child trauma and its lasting effects, which added emotional depth to the session. The event showed how books can help and enhance our understanding of real-world issues and highlighted the need to support vulnerable communities. Mr. Sidheeq P, Assistant Professor, Department of English, and Mr. Yunus T.P., UGC Librarian, coordinated the session.
