Basheer Day Celebration: Book Exhibition
The Books Exhibition was held at Shihab Thangal Library and Information Centre, KAHM Unity Women's College, Manjeri, as part of 'Basheer Day' on July 5, 2024. Organized to commemorate the literary contributions of the renowned Malayalam writer Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer, the event aimed to introduce students and faculty to his works and legacy.
The exhibition showcased a comprehensive display of Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer's literary works, including novels, short stories, essays, and autobiographical writings. It featured rare editions, translated works, and critical analyses of his literature. The event drew enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, and staff, demonstrating the lasting popularity of Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer's literature among the youth and academic community.
Prof. Dr. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal of KAHM Unity Women's College, inaugurated the program, highlighting the timeless significance of Basheer's writings. The event was welcomed by Mr. Yunus TP, College Librarian. Ms. Fathima Thasni K, Students Union leader, delivered remarks, and Mr. Yoosuf Vallanchira, Library Assistant, expressed gratitude with a Vote of Thanks.
