“Narrative Threads: Weaving Language into Life”

On July 30, 2026, the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized a Language Enrichment Programme titled “Narrative Threads: Weaving Language into Life” for first-year FYUG students. Coordinated by Dr. K. Fousi, the session was led by Dr. Sidhique P. from the PG & Research Department of English. The programme highlighted that human cognition thrives on stories rather than raw data, framing storytelling as an essential tool for leadership, persuasion, and career growth through practical models like the Context, Conflict, and Resolution (CCR) framework.
The session also addressed the evolving digital landscape, emphasizing that while AI can rapidly generate data, it cannot replace human discernment, taste, and lived experience. Dr. Sidhique underscored the role of vocabulary in shaping perception and turning obstacles into opportunities. Ultimately, the programme urged students to structure their ideas through narrative arcs and cultivate habituated deep reading to protect their capacity for critical thought in an increasingly automated world.
Ms. Jalva EK of I semester BA English gave a feedback and Ms. Absina Lincy III semester FCS student and SQAC member was the student coordinator for the session
