Unity Women’s College Conducts Three-Day Induction Programme for First-Year Students
Manjeri, July 23: K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College (Autonomous), Manjeri, successfully concluded “THRESHOLD – The Gateway to Higher Learning,” a three-day induction programme for first-year FYUGP students organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in association with the FYUGP Academic Committee. The programme was held from 21 to 23 July 2026 at the CH Auditorium and witnessed enthusiastic participation from newly admitted students. Adv. Beena Joseph, Vice-Chairperson, Manjeri Municipality, inaugurated the induction programme.
The first day featured an inspiring session, “Connect, Collaborate, Contribute: The Skills for Success,” led by motivational trainer and author Mr. Bisher K.C. Students were also introduced to the institution’s quality initiatives through the IQAC orientation, the revised FYUGP curriculum, the academic roadmap, NCC, student support services, and opportunities to participate in cultural activities and campus life.
The second day focused on academic opportunities, student wellbeing, and support systems. Sessions were conducted on SWAYAM, NPTEL and certificate courses, counselling services, campus safety, scholarships and financial support, wellness, transportation facilities, placement support, TinkerHub, study skills and time management, the Seethi Sahib Chair for Cultural and Political Studies (CGC), and the assessment system.
The final day emphasised student engagement, leadership, and belongingness. Students were introduced to the autonomous advantage through UCAA Connect, campus rules and student support systems, NSS, Share and Care initiatives, the College Union, clubs and forums, library services, and innovation and entrepreneurship opportunities through the Innovation Hub. The day also featured Newbies Fest 2026, a vibrant cultural programme that showcased the talents and creativity of the newly admitted students. The induction programme concluded with a feedback session and valedictory ceremony.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. Aswathi M.P., Mr. Shabeermon M. (FYUGP Coordinator), and Ms. Reena C.M., under the guidance of Dr. N.V. Fatimathu Zuhara, IQAC Coordinator, and Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal. The induction programme provided first-year students with a comprehensive introduction to academic life, student support systems, skill development opportunities, leadership initiatives, and campus culture, ensuring a confident and meaningful beginning to their higher education journey.
