LED Bulb Assembling Workshop

  • K.A.H. M Unity Women’s College, Manjeri
  • 10 Mar / 2026

The Department of Physics, K.A.H.M Unity Women’s College, Manjeri organized an LED Bulb Assembling Workshop on 10 March 2026 at 12:15 PM in the Physics Laboratory. The programme was conducted with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to the basic components of LED bulbs and the process involved in assembling them. The workshop aimed to enhance students’ technical knowledge and encourage them to understand energy-efficient lighting technologies.
The programme began with a welcome address by the Faculty Coordinator, Mr. Sabeer V, Assistant Professor of Physics. In his speech, he  emphasized the importance of acquiring practical skills along with theoretical knowledge, especially in areas related to modern energy-efficient technologies such as LED lighting.
The workshop was inaugurated by the resource person, Mr. Muhammed Abdul Hakkeem C, Head of the Department of Physics. In his inaugural address, he spoke about the growing importance of LED lighting in today’s world due to its energy efficiency, long lifespan, and environmental benefits. He encouraged students to develop technical skills that can be useful for both academic learning and practical applications.
Following the inauguration, Mr. Muhammed Abdul Hakkeem C handled the technical session. He explained in detail the various components used in LED bulbs such as LED chips, driver circuit, heat sink, bulb holder, and diffuser. The session also included a hands-on demonstration of the LED bulb assembling process. Students were guided through each step of assembling the bulb, which helped them understand the practical aspects of electronics and lighting technology.
Around 40 students actively participated in the workshop. The session was highly interactive, and students showed keen interest in learning the assembling techniques. The practical experience gained through the workshop helped them better understand the working mechanism and advantages of LED lighting.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Student Coordinator, Fathima Haneen of second semester B.Sc Chemistry.
