Organized a screening of Episode 4 of the Constitution Series

As part of the B.Sc. 1st Semester curriculum, the Department of Hindi, KAHM Unity Women’s College, organized a screening of Episode 4 of the Constitution Series in the Digital Studio on 3 November 2025. The Constitution Series, directed by Shyam Benegal, was originally broadcast on Rajya Sabha TV and aired every Sunday morning.
The purpose of screening this episode was to familiarize students with the discussions and deliberations that took place during the drafting of the Indian Constitution, the distinguished scholars who participated in these sessions, the challenges they encountered, and the socio-political context of that period.
Following the screening, Mr. Moh Jahangeer, Head of the Department of Hindi and Assistant Professor, conducted an engaging lecture for the students. He elaborated on the distinction between Fundamental Rights and Fundamental Duties as enshrined in the Constitution, relating the discussion to the episode’s content.
He also shared important details about the making of the Constitution—such as the total number of members involved in its drafting, the time required for its completion, the composition of the Drafting Committee, its Chairman, the President of the Constituent Assembly, and the number of sessions held. Furthermore, he clarified the differences between the Articles and the Schedules of the Constitution.
The session proved to be highly informative and thought-provoking, helping students gain a clearer understanding of the constitution-making process and motivating them to explore the Indian Constitution in greater depth.
