"Essay Writing Competition as part of Celebration of International Co-operative Day 2025"
The Department of Commerce, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized an Essay Writing Competition as part of the Celebration of International Co-operative Day 2025. The event aimed to promote awareness about the relevance of co-operative societies and their role in women’s empowerment in Kerala. The competition was held on 14 November 2025 (Friday) from 1:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Examination Hall. The topic for the essay competition was “Role of Co-operative Societies in the Empowerment of Women in Kerala.”
Students actively participated in the programme, showcasing their understanding and perspectives on how co-operative societies contribute to economic independence, social upliftment, and community development among women. The event successfully encouraged students to reflect on the significance of co-operatives in fostering inclusive growth and highlighted the importance of strengthening such institutions in Kerala.
The programme was coordinated by Mrs. Haseena Jasmine C K, Assistant Professor of Commerce, and Ms. Shyma Sherin T P, a 5th Semester B. Com Co-operation student who served as the Student Coordinator.
