International accounting day celebration

The PG Department of Commerce observed International Accounting Day on 10/11/2025 with the objective of promoting awareness about the significance of accounting in business and professional life. The programme aimed to enhance the practical skills and conceptual understanding of the students regarding the preparation of financial statements.As part of the celebration, a Financial Statements Preparation Competition was conducted exclusively for the Sixth Semester B.Com students. The competition focused on evaluating the students’ proficiency in preparing Trading Accounts, Profit and Loss Accounts, and Balance Sheets based on the given data. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation and healthy academic competition among the students.
The session was coordinated by Ms. Shajla K, Assistant Professor (Adhoc), PG Department of Commerce, who served as the Faculty Coordinator. The student level coordination was effectively handled by Juwairiya, Sixth Semester B.Com Computer Application student, who ensured smooth organization and participation.
After careful evaluation of the performance, the following students were adjudged the winners of the competition were Rushda Mariyam,Fidha Fathima K and Fathima Nafiya Sherin.
The event concluded with a brief appreciation message acknowledging the efforts of all participants and the coordinators. The celebration successfully encouraged students to approach accounting with greater interest and confidence, thereby fulfilling the intended purpose of the programme.
The International Accounting Day celebration served as an enriching academic experience, enhancing the analytical and accounting skills of the students. The PG Department of Commerce looks forward to organizing similar academic activities in the future to foster professional growth and practical learning.
