“Mind Matters: The Link Between Mental Health and Learning”

PG Department of Commerce organized an insightful session on “Mind Matters: The Link Between Mental Health and Learning”, led by Ms. Maneesha, the Head of the Department of Psychology on 23/10/2025 at 2.50 pm to 3.40 pm. The program aimed to highlight the crucial connection between a student’s psychological well-being and their academic performance.
Ms. Maneesha, in her engaging presentation, discussed how mental health influences concentration, memory, motivation, and overall learning outcomes. She emphasized the importance of emotional balance and stress management in academic success. Through real-life examples and interactive discussions, she encouraged students to adopt positive coping strategies, maintain healthy routines, and seek psychological support whenever needed.
The session also explored the impact of anxiety, peer pressure, and academic stress on learning efficiency, offering practical solutions for maintaining mental stability in challenging academic environments. Students actively participated and shared their experiences, making the program both interactive and thought-provoking.The event began with a welcome note of MS.Sahida( Assistant Professor Ad-hoc), and concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Shabeeba Mol(Association Secretary), 5th Semester UG appreciating Ms. Maneesha for her valuable insights and for promoting mental health awareness among students. The session truly emphasized that a healthy mind is the foundation of effective learning.
