Conducted a NET Orientation Programme for M.Com students

The PG Department of Commerce conducted a NET Orientation Programme for M.Com students on 12/08/2025 (Tuesday)aimed at equipping them with awareness, guidance, and strategies to prepare for the National Eligibility Test (NET) in Commerce. This session was designed to motivate students, provide clarity on exam patterns, and share effective study methods to enhance their chances of success.The objectives of the programme to To create awareness among postgraduate students about the structure and significance of the NET examination,to guide students on the syllabus, exam format, and evaluation criteria, share tips and strategies for systematic preparation,to encourage students to start early and maintain consistency in their study approach.
The session began with an introductory note highlighting the importance of the NET examination in building an academic career. The resource person, Ms. Shajla K, explained the exam eligibility, paper pattern (Paper I and Paper II), syllabus coverage, and recent changes in the test structure.She also discussed effective time management techniques, recommended reference materials, online resources, and mock test practices. The emphasis was placed on maintaining a positive mindset, consistent study habits, and setting realistic goals.The session included an interactive Q&A where students clarified doubts related to subject-specific preparation, marking schemes, and post-NET career opportunities like lectureship and research fellowships.The session successfully motivated students to take early action toward NET preparation. Participants expressed that they gained clarity on exam expectations and felt confident in structuring a preparation plan. Many students showed interest in forming peer study groups for collaborative learning.The student coordinator, Shaban(Third sem M. com)delivered vote of thanks.
