Session on the topic “life and language”
The Arabic Culture and Heritage Forum (ACHF) of the Arabic Department conducted a session on the topic “Life and Language” on Tuesday, 28th February 2023. The session began at 9:30 AM in the seminar hall. The welcome speech was delivered by Muhsina, Secretary of ACHF and a 4th-semester B.Sc. FCS student.Mr. Noushad Ali P.K., Head of the Department of Arabic, delivered the presidential address, while Dr. Muhammad Basheer Ummathur, Principal of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, inaugurated the program. The keynote address was delivered by Mrs. Sameera M.P., Assistant Professor at Government College, Nilambur. Several dignitaries, including Basheer Hussain Thangal (Chairman of the Readers Forum), Dr. Shilna (Department of Hindi), Arifa Beegum (Department of Malayalam), and Aslaha Konoth (UUC, Students' Union), felicitated the program.The session was highly effective and emotionally impactful. Mrs. Sameera captivated the audience, making students both laugh and cry with her life experiences. The session was described as unforgettable in the history of ACHF, with many students expressing their emotional responses and providing heartfelt feedback.As part of the event, various programs, including a mehndi competition, a state-level digital poster-making competition, and a reel-making competition, were organized. Prizes for these events were distributed during the ceremony. Additionally, Shahana, a 4th-semester B.Sc. Botany student, was honored for designing the logo for ACHF.Approximately 120 students attended the session. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mahmud Minhaj P., Guest Faculty in the Department of Arabic.
