Following are the Green policy of the College

  • Rain water harvesting using a tank of 12 lakh litres volume , Open Well Recharging System using indigenous coconut husk technology, water recycling system to reuse waste water etc. are implemented to  avoid wastage of water.
  • Maintenance of an Aquatic Bio Park, Bio Diversity Park etc. to conserve endangered species.
  • Bird feeding centre is maintained to attract and conserve the bird species of the locality, and to impart knowledge about various species to students.
  • Labelling of plant species with QR coding is done to create awareness about the bio diversity.
  • Insecticide free Poly House Farming of vegetable crops with the involvement of students, Mushroom cultivation workshop, Vermicomposting etc. are done to promote organic farming.
  • The campus is made Plastic free. NSS volunteers its maintenance as a plastic free campus. Joining hands with The Clean Manjeri Scheme of Manjeri Muncipality we expect to remove all plastic wastes from the campus and nearby areas.
  • Incinerators are provided in all bathroom units in the campus and hostel.
  • Awareness class on the need for bio conservation is given to the students, staff and the localities by NSS and NCC.
  • Entry of Vehicles other than that of the staff and students is restricted to limit pollution.
  •  Proper waste management in campus and hostel is ensured.
  • Providing awareness regarding the energy consumption by conducting various programmes like awareness classes, observation of days, activities etc.
  • Reduction if electricity, plastic and water usage inside the campus
  • Implementing effective management of waste water projects
  • Replacement of conventional lighting system with LED bulbs and tubes
  • Solar panels are installed to utilize solar energy
  • Water conservation through rain water harvesting and open well recharge system
  • Energy audit is being conducted periodically to identify the use and wastage of energy
  • Use of energy efficient equipment in the campus
  • To reduce energy consumption and wastage, maximum ventilation is provided in the buildings.
  • Providing awareness regarding the waste management by conducting various programmes like awareness classes, workshops and talks on waste management.
  • Encourage the students and teachers to use E-books, E-journals, emails, Google classrooms, LMS – MOODLE for teaching learning practice
  • Banned use of plastics in the campus
  • Use of Steel plates instead of paper/plastic plates and glasses to minimize the use of degradable and non-degradable solid waste
  • Installed Incinerators for the use of students that converts waste materials into heat, gas, steam, and ash.
  • Burying the waste in the land.
  • Leaf composters are placed in the college premises to enable gardeners to dispose-off the garden waste on-site rather than at garbage dumps
  • Waste generated by the routine activities carried out by the students and teachers are collected by the Block Level Workers.
  • Segregating and compiling the waste in the blue and green dustbins that  would be shifted to the dumping yard from where the authorized vendors would collect, segregate and recycle them as per the guidelines given by the government.
  • Waste water management Canals, outlets and waste pits are constructed to collect and treat the waste water from the canteen and other washbasins in the campus.
  •  Waste water management is successfully maintained in the hostel by channelizing bathing and washing water to the water treatment pit. Treated water is used to watering the plants, lawn, organic farming and drip irrigation
  •  A standard operating system is maintained for handling the hazardous waste water from labs.
  •  E-waste like Monitor, Mother board, Compact discs, Printers etc. in  damaged conditions are either recycled or sold away using buy back options.
