NSS Special Camp 'Punarjani' - Session 12: 100 Day TB Elimination Campaign
The third day of NSS 7-day residential camp was dedicated to conducting a 100-day Tuberculosis (TB) elimination awareness campaign at Ward No. 46, Manjeri Municipality in association with the District TB Centre, Manjeri. This important initiative aimed to educate the local community about TB and encourage early detection and treatment.
Our NSS Secretary, Fathima Hashim, initiated the campaign by providing detailed awareness and instructions to the volunteers. She emphasized the importance of recognizing TB symptoms and the steps to be taken if symptoms are observed.
Following the briefing, the volunteers spread out to nearby local houses, engaging with residents and spreading awareness about TB. They informed the locals about the symptoms of TB, such as persistent cough, fever, night sweats, and weight loss. The volunteers also advised that anyone exhibiting these symptoms should consult the Health Care Centre at Veembur for proper diagnosis and treatment.
The campaign was well-received by the community, with many residents expressing their gratitude for the information and guidance. The volunteers' efforts significantly contributed to raising awareness and potentially reducing the incidence of TB in the area.
