Library Cleaning by NSS

The NSS units 008 and 171 of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, conducted a library cleaning on 15 June 2024 as part of their social service activities. The program began at 9:30 AM. The college’s library, named Shihab Thangal Library and Information Centre, is housed in a separate multi-facility building with an area of 464.5 sq.m (5000 square feet). The library boasts a collection of 21,071 volumes and subscribes to 86 periodicals annually.

Fifty volunteers participated in this event. They were divided into ten groups of five, with each group assigned a specific area to clean. The volunteers worked diligently and thoroughly. Over 22,000 books were cleaned and arranged on the racks, showcasing the volunteers’ active participation and perseverance.

The program was led by secretaries Ms. Hana Fathima, Ms. Sadhiya, and Ms. Fathima Rasha. They were assisted and guided by library staff members Mr. Yousuf, Mr. Younus, and Mr. Koyakutti. The principal, Dr. Mohammed Basheer Ummathur, was present and expressed his appreciation to the students for their efforts.
