NSS Special Camp 'Punarjani' - Session 23: Sukruthakeralam Project - Old Age Home Rejuvenation
On the fifth day of NSS camp 'Punarjani,' we focused on rejuvenating an old age home in the 46th ward of Manjeri Municipality as part of Sukrthakeralam project on 24th November 2024. This activity aimed to enhance the living conditions of the elderly residents while providing them with love and care.
Our dedicated volunteers started the day by thoroughly cleaning the premises. They ensured that the living areas, common rooms, and surrounding environments were cleaned. Special attention was given to sanitizing the bathrooms to maintain a hygienic atmosphere. Additionally, volunteers organized the residents' personal spaces and common areas to create a more pleasant and comfortable living environment.
In addition to these, volunteers also spent quality time with the residents. They engaged in heartfelt conversations, listened to the elderly's stories, and shared experiences. Also, to ensure the health and well-being of the residents, basic health check-ups like monitoring blood pressure and sugar levels were conducted.
The residents expressed immense gratitude for the volunteers' efforts, visibly happier and more comfortable. The management of the old age home acknowledged the positive changes and appreciated the thorough and heartfelt service provided by the NSS volunteers.
