World Health Day Observed by NSS

On April 7, 2024, the NSS units of K. A .H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized an enlightening awareness program to commemorate World Health Day. The event focused on advocating for healthy eating habits, a pivotal aspect of overall well-being, especially amid the prevailing global health challenges. Amidst the digital landscape, the program was conducted via Zoom, ensuring accessibility and participation from a wide audience.

The program commenced at 9:00 PM and featured a series of insightful talks and discussions led by esteemed speakers and volunteers. Ms. Bushaira.v, an Assistant Professor in the FCS Department, delivered a compelling talk emphasizing the significance of healthy eating habits in maintaining optimal health and preventing diseases. Her expertise and passion for the subject resonated with the audience, providing valuable insights and practical tips.

The event witnessed active participation from 65 dedicated volunteers who enthusiastically engaged in the discussions and activities. Their involvement underscored the collective commitment towards promoting health and well-being within the community. Fathima Rasha, Hana Fathima, and Dr. V. Hikmathulla (Program Officer NSS) contributed to the dialogue, enriching the program with their expertise and perspectives.

Throughout the program, various aspects of healthy eating were explored, including nutrition essentials, meal planning, and dietary modifications. Participants gained a deeper understanding of the impact of dietary choices on physical and mental health, empowering them to make informed decisions towards a healthier lifestyle.
