Spreading New Era
Unity Women’s College has always been hailed as a trailblazer in spreading a new era of education and empowerment to the girl students at Malappuram, says Manjeri M.L.A. Adv. U. A. Latheef.
M.L.A. Adv. U. A. Latheef (Manjeri) spoke about the dedication and hard work involved in retaining the quality of education through quality teaching during the inaugural function of the College Day at K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri. He also addressed his apprehension on the current democratic outlook and how the new generation can indeed ignite a choice that safeguards both dignity and quality of life. He also motivated the students to hold their dreams tight and to go forward with confident minds. Meridia Students’ Union College Day “Muskurahat” was conducted on February 29, 2024, at the College auditorium.
The welcome address was given by Ms. Fahmida, Joint Secretary. The presidential address was delivered by the College Chairperson Ms. Aslaha Konoth. Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur presented the College Annual Report showcasing the laurels and academics, co-curricular and extra curricular activities of the academic year 2023-24. This was followed by the lucky draw prizes in association with “Snehabhavanam – a project undertaking housing construction for the needy student”. The prizes were sponsored by KeyCees Jewellery, Bidon bycycle mall, TreeG Zelesta Resorts – Kakkadampoyil, Kasavu Kendra, Shawl Palace, K. R. Bakery, Cardea Health Care Solutions and Supernova. College Union report 23-24 was presented by Ms. Thasni, Union secretary.
Department Magazine from Botany titled as “Drumam” was released by the Manager, Jenab O. Abdul Ali. Distribution of certificates of merit were presented in due acknowledgement to the students, faculty and staff of the college for their outstanding performance in various academic pursuits. Dr. Annie Ninan ( Staff Advisor) and Dr. Shahina Mol A. K. ( English Dept. Head and Iqac Coordinator) felicitated during the programme. Dr. Usman (Staff Club Representative), Dr. Thasnim (Fine Arts Director) and Mr. V. M. Mustafa (P.T.A. Vice President) spoke on the occasion. Ms. Fidha (UUC) delivered the vote of thanks. The formal inauguration was followed by a spectacular cultural programme.
