As part of Van Mahotsav 2023, P.G. Department of Botany, K.A.H.M. Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized Slogan Writing Competition on 01st July 2023 for both students and teachers to raise the awareness about the importance of trees and forests in our lives and to protect the environment. The Slogans reviewed and judged by Dr. Manju C. Nair, Associate Professor, Lower Plant Division, Department of Botany, University of Calicut in which the entries from Shirin E.K., Fourth Semester M.Sc. Home Science (‘Rise a tree like a child and feel it’s shadow like a mother’) and Shuhaila M., Fifth Semester B.Sc. Botany (‘Tree for me, Tree for you, Tree for us: Let’s plant together’) were selected as the best Slogans among the students. Assistant Professors from six various Departments (Department of Chemistry, Commerce, English, Home Science, History and Mathematics) were participated in the competition and contributed the Slogans regarding environment protection and conservation. The Slogans, ‘More trees to hug, More life to live’ and ‘Grow green to glow green’ from Shahla Karuthedath (Assistant Professor Adhoc, P.G. Department of Home Science) and Dr. Fathimathu Zuhara N.P. (Assistant Professor, P.G. Department of Home Science) respectively were marked as the foremost ones in the contest of teachers. The organized progamme inspires the students and teachers to save the environment by planting, replanting and conserving the vegetation on earth.Plant a tree today for better tomorrow.
