As part of Van Mahotsav 2023, P.G. Department of Botany, KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, organized ‘One Student One Tree Campaign 2023’ on 07th July 2023. It is an annual tree planting movement in the college to raise the awareness about benefits of trees and to encourage students to become more active in environmental conservation efforts. The students of Fifth Semester B.Sc. Botany and Second Semester M.Sc. Botany and Haseena Jasmine, Assistant Professor, P.G. Department of Commerce, were contributed various tree seedlings including Syzygium aromaticum (L.) Merr. & Perry, Mangifera indica L., Bambusa bambos (L.) Voss in Vilmorin, Saraca asoca (Roxb.) de Wilde, Anacardium occidentale L., etc.. The seedlings planted in the Biodiversity Park (Botanical Garden) of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, in turn acts as one of the germplasm conservation centre of rare and endangered trees.
