In association with physics department, department of Chemistry celebrated van der Waals day on 23 November 2022, on birthday of Dutch theoretical physicist and thermodynamicist Johannes Diderik van der Waals (23 November 1837 – 8 March 1923). The programme started with a talk by Dr. P. Jyothi, head of the department of Chemistry, on van der Waals and his important inventions in the field of molecular interactions. The programme was coordinated by Mr. Abdul Hakkeem, Head of the department of Physics. A small video played for the students about the biography of this great scientist that portrayed his personal life as well as life journey with the molecular interactions. Students got a clear idea about his profile and the relevance of these inventions in science.
