The Intensive Voter Awareness Programme held at KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, on March 19, 2024, at 10:30 AM, witnessed active participation from various stakeholders. The event was organized by NSS Unit 171 & 008 in collaboration with the Electoral Literacy Club (ELC) of the college, Nehru Yuva Kendra Malappuram, Areecode Block Level, and Eranad Taluk Election Vibhagam.

The programme commenced with an inaugural address by Professor (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathoor, the Principal of the college. Dr. Hikmathulla V, Programme Officer of NSS, delivered the welcome address, highlighting the significance of voter awareness in fostering democratic values among students.

The event featured presentations by Abdul Asees.M, Deputy Tahsildar & ELC Nodal Officer, and Habeeb Rahman, Record Attender & ELC representative. Both speakers emphasized the importance of voter participation and educated the audience on the electoral process.

Faizal T.K, Coordinator of the Electoral Literacy Club, and Nidhin , Coordinator of NYK , Areecode Block level. expressed their appreciation for the enthusiastic involvement of students and faculty members in promoting voter literacy. The vote of thanks was delivered by Hanna Fathima, Secretary of NSS, acknowledging the contributions of all participants in making the programme a success.

The Intensive Voter Awareness Programme at KAHM Unity Women’s College served as a platform to instill a sense of civic responsibility and empower the youth to exercise their voting rights effectively. With the collective efforts of all stakeholders, the event contributed significantly to promoting a culture of informed and active citizenship.
