World osteoporosis day, a global healthcare event was observed by the department in collaboration with ABC Orthopaedic Hospital, Manjeri on 20th October 2022. The awareness campaign was inaugurated and the lecture was delivered by Dr Habeeb Rahman, Medical Director, Senior Consultant, Joint Replacement, Arthroscopic and Trauma Surgeon. He focused on the preventive measures for bone health by implementing a particular lifestyle and adhering to food habits thus ensuring healthy bones and preventing prolonged osteoporosis. A medical camp on uric acid detection was also conducted. Dr Annie Ninan, Associate Professor and Ms. Kadheeja Sumin, V semester B Sc FCS were the coordinators of the programme.
