A department-level bridge course was conducted for the newly admitted I B Sc FCS students from 12th to 19th September 2022 in order to familiarize the students with their new environment and to bridge the gap between the subjects studied at higher secondary and degree level. An introduction about the Home Science subject and the whole programme was also included. The various courses included under B Sc Family and Community Science, its higher education and career opportunities were explained. Apart from that mentoring and connecting with faculty members is the most important part. Setting human values, exploring one, standing up to peer pressure, experiencing the joy of learning, etc. are also part of this bridge course. The faculty members of the department namely Dr Annie Ninan, Dr N V Fatimathu Zuhara and Mrs. Bushaira Vhandled the sessions.
