Can Industries Be More Women Friendly

A gender equality program titled “Can Industries Be More Women Friendly” was conducted on February 22, 2024, at the Department of Chemistry, KAHM UNITY WOMEN’S COLLEGE, Manjeri. The event aimed to foster discussions on the challenges and opportunities for women in various industries. Students from both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programs actively participated in the program. The session took the form of an open debate, moderated by Ms. Omniya Ummer, a student from the fourth semester of BSc Chemistry. Under her guidance, participants engaged in lively discussions, exchanging insights and perspectives on the topic. Dr. Jasna VC, the teacher coordinator of the event, provided valuable instructions to the students, ensuring the smooth conduct of the program. The program proved to be highly informative and beneficial, particularly considering the context of being held in a women’s college. Participants delved into the pressing issues concerning women’s participation in industries, addressing both the need for gender equality and the specific challenges that women face in various professional spheres. Key points discussed during the program included strategies to make industries more women-friendly, the importance of equal opportunities and representation, as well as the role of education and advocacy in promoting gender inclusivity in the workforce.
