Bakrid Celebration of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri was organised by Erica Students’ Union on 27th June 2023 in the College auditorium.The celebration began with the prayer song by the college choir. The gathering was welcomed by the College Union Student representative Fathima Thasni. The event was presided over by Principal Prof. Dr. Basheer Ummathur who delivered the presidential address. The programme was inaugurated by Adv UA Latheef, honourable MLA.Manjeri and Secretary, College Management Committee.This was followed by Bakrid message.Addressing the gathering Dr C Saidalavi ,former Principal,stressed the importance of ‘The Day Of Arafah’ and said Bakrid signifies sacrifice. A short play ‘Let’s Walk Along’ was staged by the students of the department of Psychology in connection with the Observance of Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month. Various cultural programs like Opana and Mapilapattu were presented along with Mehandi and Cooking competitions. Mr Shabeermon,Head, Department of History,proposed the vote of thanks.
